The County of Elk is pleased to sponsor a Family Fun Day—“Elk County Salutes America’s 250th Anniversary: The Great American Duck Race”—on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Sandy Beach Park.
The day will kick off with an official flag-raising ceremony at 11:30 AM, followed by a variety of activities for all ages, including sporting contests, food and beverages, face painting, live music, sawdust pile, and; of course, the highlight of the day—our duck race. Activities will run from 12noon to 4 pm.
We invite your organization to join us in the celebration and consider hosting an outreach activity of your own. Whether it’s a booth for a silly game, give-away or any other creative event or fundraiser, we have reserved the entire park and would be happy to provide space for your use. If you wish to host a sports tourney, the County will provide commemorative t-shirt for the winners.
In addition, your activity will receive promotion through the County’s website and Facebook page, as well as through PA Great Outdoors’ marketing efforts.
To assist us in finalizing and promoting the schedule of events, please respond by April 30, 2026 to let us know if your organization plans to participate.
If your group is interested in participating or would like more information, please contact County Office Administrator Emily Anders at 814-776-1161 or via email at eanders@countyofelkpa.gov.
Thank you for considering partnering with us to celebrate our nation’s Semiquincentennial. We look forward to the opportunity to work together on this exciting community event.
