America250PA in Elk County!
The United States Semiquincentennial will be the 250th anniversary of the 1776 United States Declaration of Independence. Festivities will be scheduled to mark various events leading up to the anniversary on July 4, 2026. In 2018 the Pennsylvania Legislature and Governor Shapiro established America250PA to plan, encourage, develop and coordinate the commemoration of this historic event and to recognize Pennsylvania’s unique role in the creation of the United States
The County of Elk America250PA Liberty Bell project has been completed! This video documentary highlights the Bell’s journey through Elk County schools and celebrates the incredible students who helped bring this project to life. The County Commissioners, led by Chair Fritz Lecker, along with artist John Schlimm, visited each school to complete this remarkable masterpiece.
