News from the CYS Office
Elk County is proud to acknowledge April as National Child Abuse Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact of abuse on children and commit to building safer, healthier communities. It’s a call to action to educate, support, and stand together to protect our most vulnerable and ensure every child has a chance to grow up in a safe and loving environment.
At the April 4, 2017 Elk County Commissioners Meeting, the Board of Commissioners proclaimed April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Elk County Children and Youth Director Nancy Baker described the “Pinwheels For Prevention” program to raise awareness of child abuse prevention; and was presented with the proclamation from the Commissioners.
