Mission Statement

The Recycling/Solid Waste office is responsible for facilitating Elk County’s drop-off recycling program. It is a program that not only includes traditional recyclable materials, but also used oil, tires, white goods, household hazardous waste and electronics. The office is also responsible for enforcing the county’s solid waste ordinance.

HOURS:
Monday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Wednesday: 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Friday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

The Recycling Center is closed on all major holidays and weekends.

Electronics, lamps, batteries, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and oil based paints and pesticides are also collected during regular business hours.

Detailed information on all of our programs is available through the recycling office. The recycling coordinator is also available to present programs to schools, service groups, scout groups and other organizations.
