Elk County Probation Department Responsibilities
The Probation/Parole Department is responsible for supervising adult and juvenile offenders sentenced by the 59th Judicial Court of Common Pleas.
The Probation/Parole Department provides an integrated delivery of correctional and rehabilitative services for adult and juvenile offenders. By implementing community supervision strategies, providing rehabilitative programs and referring to various agencies, the Probation/Parole Department helps to insure the protection of society while promoting accountability and the rehabilitation of offenders and youth at risk. The Office collects court ordered fines, costs and restitution for all sentenced offenders, provides community service hours to non-profit agencies as part of an offenders sentence, utilizes drug testing, and provides supervision through electronic monitoring.
